Contest Management System
|
BAI's Contest Management System (CMS) has been used for web-based health promotion contests across the country.
In these contests, people are invited to register online to participate in the contest on CMS. Optionally, groups of participants can
define themselves as teams which compete against each other. During the contest period, participants log on to CMS each day and record
their activities. The activities that may be recorded depend upon the contest. For example, a contest designed to promote
greater physical activity might record the number of minutes walked each day, while a nutrition contest might record the total calories,
fat, and salt consumed each day. Prizes are usually raffled at the end of the contest among participants and teams that have achieved
specified goals, such as having an average of 30 minutes of walking per day.
BAI's Contest Management System has the following customizing features:
- Pages can be customized with the client's look and feel (graphics, fonts, colors, etc.)
- Milestone prizes can be defined and awarded, such as prizes for the people who log the 100,000,000th and the 500,000,000th steps in a walking promotion contest.
- An educational survey can be specified as part of the registration and/or completion process.
- Participants can "challenge a friend" by requesting that CMS send an email with information about the contest to a particular email address.
- Activities to be logged can be defined for each contest.
- The contest duration can be defined for each contest.
- The team feature is optional. If teams are used, team "types" can be identified (e.g., work group, family, youth) so that prizes
can be awarded within each team type. The system can also keep track of the number of days each team is in the lead.
- Can use a domain name purchased for the contest, or can have a brekkeassociatesinc.com link.
- Summary reports can graphically show whether the team or individual is keeping pace with what it will take to achieve the overall goal.
- The contest administrator can easily send all participants email updates regarding schedule changes, new prizes, etc.
