| Conduct research. Since 1985, BAI has done quantitative and qualitative research and evaluation in religion, health services, professional assessment, customer satisfaction, and employee attitudes. BAI specializes in large projects, particularly in: research design; proposal writing; sampling; the development of data collection instruments, scales, and measurements; the collection, management, and statistical analysis of data; mathematical modeling of data and systems; the interpretation and communication of research results; and the development of assessment and management tools. |
| Build software systems. We are highly skilled developers in a variety of computer languages including SAS, SUDAAN, ASP, SQL, VBScript, JavaScript, XML, XSL, Perl, HTML, COBOL, FORTRAN, and C, and have experience developing on a variety of platforms from mainframe to microcomputers, on the web and standalone. We have developed systems for customized survey administration, analysis, and reporting for several of our clients. Our web-based Contest Management System has been used by public health organizations for promotion of exercise in communities across the nation. We have also developed an in-house statistical package with which we have constructed dozens of highly reliable survey scales. |

| Build mathematical models. Our modeling experience ranges from heart disease to consumer behavior to subatomic particle physics. Applications have included: forecasting the response of debtors to debt collection activities; prediction of consumer response to mailed sales offers; consumer market segmentation; models to fit the available data for magnetic moments of protons, neutrons, and other baryons; computer simulations of mathematical models of glasses; new mathematical models of elementary particles; and, most recently, risk factor models of cardiovascular disease and mortality in adult populations. |
